beladona Memorial's First Life
After finishing my gig with the 6th community bank, I started a new job on March 5th,2007 — still in loan servicing, but as a Director for a non-bank commercial lender. I have found that there is a big difference between working with SBA loans and being an SBA lender!
In July 2007 I moved into a place much closer to work — I am loving the shorter commute [but it can take 45 minutes to travel less than 10 miles during rush hour], a more robust internet connection [at least when Comcast grants me a connection at all] and having a garage under the apartment building. It is a big place just for me and Kula — for those who used to listen to BUCKET, podcat moved in with me. I still have boxes and bags to unpack, but they are tucked away in a spare bedroom. The books are out on the shelves now, and the living room furniture arrived around the end of April, but I haven’t gotten much further than that and it has been an entire year!
If you really want to know more, send me an IM and ask.

==============================
Nowhereville: beladona’s beach has returned to the island! Lost Grounds is still where I reside, but I am really happy to be back in my original location.
Lost Grounds is undergoing some changes — there is a lot of land now up for open sale to anyone — and one person even abandoned a lot in the middle of the sim to avoid an increase in tier — and we can only hope that whoever buys it will keep the gentle island beach theme going.
==============================
I joined when SL first opened — quit when I found out that SL and dialup didn’t go well together. I re-joined again when Howard Rhinegold from the Brainstorms community gave a SL talk and I found out that my son was already in world — Tasha Loveless. Later I got more active when the BUCKET podcast moved in world — Madison Carnot is my RL daughter. For a long time, I have been a hanger-on and fan girl around and about the podcast community.
FWIIW, IMNSHO, the people who make SL worthwhile are the ones who are truly here for a “second life”. The formation of communities and the social interactions are as key to this environment as the ability to create.
It has been interesting! And like all interesting experiences, it has been painful as well as pleasant. Although I do not waste time/energy on regrets, there are things that I fervently wish had been different. But in SL as in RL, we are what our choices have made us, neh? In some ways who we become in our SL is a truer reflection of our inner selves than the roles that we play in RL. People who are basically good-hearted come across that way. People who have nasty minds stand revealed. And all of us get to display our inner geeks!
My area of expertise seems to be exploration and helping newcomers. I truly enjoy meeting new folks and finding out new things here!
Be warned:in this very rich environment where you can immerse yourself so completely, your emotions will become engaged — and not everyone is cognizant of that. Among the many excellent features of SL, there is no auto-return on hearts, so be wary of where your’s wanders…
YMMV!

Hi beladona! So glad to see you here on SLBuzz! Now we are occupying even more networking sites. How many can we keep up with?
January 24th, 2007 at 3:40 pm
for some reason snapshots that I send from in world are duplicating
January 25th, 2007 at 8:51 pm
hey beladona! the duplicates have been removed. there was an issue with second life sending multiple copies of postcards. linden lab took care of it, but just in case it ever happens again, i also added a mechanism to detect and prevent duplicates.
if there’s anything else, just send me a message. :) have fun!

Wow, Grendel’s Children is amazing. Pretty good avatars at very cheap prices! I’m digging the 5L insect avatars! Thanks for this recommendation!
