On August 7th, we brought you the Bacon & Eggs Outfit and then on September 17th we brought you Green Eggs & Ham Outfit.

Now at the request of one Sophie Fussbudget, we bring you the BLT Outfit. This outfit, like its sisters, is only $1L at Nooby Doo’s. The bacon texture is a bit different on this skirt to keep it unique from the Bacon & Eggs. You really cannot have enough Bacon.

Prad Prathivi’s recent blog, I can haz freebiez and Ana Lutetia’s blog, freebie culture inSL, brings forward people’s ideas and feelings regarding freebies. However my feelings on freebies are slightly different and my reasons for having free and $1L content is very different as well.
When I first started there was pretty much nothing for new players except all those system freebies that we cringe at now a days. If it weren’t for a few generous hair designers(Aleri, Six, Haedon, & Tigerlily) and some great lucky chairs, I would have looked like a newbie for weeks because I had no money. Most of us have been that person with no money and most of us do not beg off strangers. News of freebies kept me in style until I could afford more expensive things on my own. I never forgot those who were generous and are still one of their customers. I wish I could have kept all their update groups but with the 25 cap that became hard once I got into business.
I use my giving to Pay It Forward for those that did help me out in those early days and hope that those I am helping will one day do the same. Maybe this is different for others but I use this belief in my real life as well. When I am finished with something like baby items, clothing, furniture, books, I freecycle it to someone who needs that item. I have been freecycling for over 5 years. I find it is much more rewarding than selling it and, for me, it gives me something I can do to help others even though I do not have a lot of money. We all remember what it feels like to have no lindens and wanting to wear pretty things. If it makes them happy, I have no problem with groups, blogs, friends sharing that information.
Like Stephanie Misfit mentioned in her comments on Prad’s blog, my problem comes from the recent wave of entitled people who feel it is their right to demand things because you gave them someone for free. During our Candy Corn Hunt, I cannot tell you how many IMs I got from people demanding that I tell them where Laynie and I hid our candies. The words of thanks that we do receive help to balance out the entitled nagging but sadly the naggers are more persistent. We are offering these items because we can and not because we have to. Apparently this has gotten lost somewhere. Designers do not have to give freebies/dollarbies/cheapies, we choose to but when people treat us like they are entitled to it than it makes the whole thing feel sour.

Did you get a chance to look at Nooby Doo’s while on our hunt over the weekend? It has drastically changed already. It is changing everyday with new items as we find them. Nooby Doo’s is a newbie-friendly store that has been put together by Laynie and I filled with items that we made so you will not find these items at other newbie stores. Nothing costs over $1L and we have both camping and lucky chairs as well. I think we have gone a bit nuts but that is always fun to do. I tried counting the items but I keep getting side tracked after 200 or so. You might find us sorting and rearranging if you come by but you can find almost anything you need there. We have shapes, skins, eyes, dresses, pajamas, swimwear, shoes, hair, accessories, full avatars, tattoos, and more. It is located right next to Tea Lane at http://slurl.com/secondlife/Granymyr/195/138/28.
Here are some pictures of the walls to give you an idea of what we put up:

We are headed into the last days of the closing sale for LaynieWear and Style Your Destiny. Everything is on sale at the Granymyr location. There are a few hidden $1L items. Some are hidden in flowers and red sticks. Even Kenai(our dog) is hugging an item.
We have put out Hair Fair dollarbies and there is a giant pose set for $10L.
The new store, ~Tea Lane~, will be coming soon so we need to get rid of the old to make room for the new.
Happy shopping,
