Autumn leaves

Ciao a tutti!

Here the cold suddenly came and ironically the streets are all painted with the warm colors of the autumn leaves! Colors that inspired me for today’s look. I wanted to put together an outfit which could give the idea of something cozy and, at same time, quick and easy. To start, I’m wearing the N i V E N rose tapestry brocade dress, which has a lovely autumn palette and the style I was looking for. It is perfect and stylish to take a relaxing walk in the park in the late afternoon.

I matched it with the cozy cropped Yeti jacket from Muism. This fur jacket is amazingly realistic, and really follows RL trends for the Fall/Winter. I own a similar jacket in RL, and I use it for my casual meetings with friends or with a more formal or bon ton evening outfits.

As the dress has a floral pattern of different colors you don’t want to go overboard with the colors of the accessories. Select one color for the rest of the items matched, that is brown or its shades, for the jacket itself and the great sculpty boots from Maitreya, the slouch socks and the classy gloves, a group gift from Vain Inc.

As the look is feminine and casual, a skin with a base makeup, made fresher by the dot eyelashes by MMS, and unfettered, straight hair in a gorgeous natural blonde. Final touches to add a touch of chic is the statement necklace from the N i V E N lizard coat dress.

Ciao for now!

Anni '60

I love all the fashions from the 60s! From the classical and proper styles, to the hippie and pop glam ones. For me they never out of fashion. I plan to bring to you several posts celebrating the looks of the 60's. With my first one, I wanted to create a look inspired by Twiggy, one of the most famous models/icons of the 60s.

I selected neutral colors for my look, white and gray with some gold and darker tones as to not to make it too monochrome. The blouse from the N i V E N heavy metal coat dress is perfect for the look I had in my mind. I wanted to play with geometric patterns and at same time match it with some high waisted white pants by Muism, which adds to the retro flavor.

I wanted to keep this look clean, so decided not to use any nail polish or statement jewelry. I limited myself to a pair of very simple earrings, the Nairobi by Seasons HC. I wanted to emulate a Twiggy style and impress without wearing many accessories or being too made up. Used then the Helsinki skin in its fair tone with its clean make up and the Jamie hair in blonde, very Twiggy-like, both by MMS.

Other accessories, and a very strong part of the look, are made by the spectacles by Paper Couture. It was the spectacles that initially gave me the idea for this style along with the N i V E N Heavy Metal Coat Dress Top, which is one of the few I every saw with a geometric pattern such as this and with an amazing collar.

Matched them with a black belt by Artilleri, subtle yet classy, and the tweed bag by plus, which compliments the blouse nicely.

My shoes are Diva2 by Tesla in white and they contribute to make the overall look, a bit androgyny, but never masculine. Just like the gorgeous Twiggy was.

Ciao for now!

Modavia Fashion Directory IV - Now Available!!

Modavia Models CEO, Poptart Lilliehook, has just released the fourth edition of The Modavia Fashion Directory. Page after page of amazing, beautifully shot fashions complete with SLURL's so you can shop with no delay.

The N i V E N Collection has a great ad featuring my dear friend and N i V E N Supermodel, Payton Heron, wearing The PopArt Dress which comes with 3 skirts (tri-colored, solid black and zebra) and two different shirt collars. You can pick up a directory here in front of my shop.

Leather inspired

My look today is inspired by wonderfully textured leather pieces. They are the perfect to go out in these days as they keep you warm and stylish at the same time!

I started with the jacket from Ce Cubic Effect. Just like the N i V E N Black leather bell skirt it is versatile and can be adapted to many different looks. Adding the jacket breaks up the semi-formality overall. I don't ever like to look too formal and serious, but have fun!! Next I selected a black, iridescent shirt, which shows some gray tones to compliment and pick up the skirt shades in belt. Making it quite a unique looking ensemble.

The Chi Chi pumps from Maitreya are a girl’s best friend and one of my staple shoes. They look perfect with almost every style. I colored the ribbon in gray to make them stand out even more and make a perfect match with Nonna Hedges' purse.

My hair is the MMS girlie up-do style in white and is great as you don’t want to take away from the amazing jewelry detail. It contrasts nicely with the make up of the skin, which is clean and simple, but give you a well define eye. As for the jewelry, I kept it fresh and young, so decided to juice up the look with some nice earrings from Bianca Foulon and a matching bracelet from Trip.

That’s all for today, hope you enjoyed! :)

Ciao a tutti!!

I am Dahlia Joubert from Italy! I recently joined Digital Image as one of the new fashion blog writers. Thanks to Scarlett Niven, whom I met for the first time a couple of months ago after winning her Scarlettcast - My Favorite Look Contest, for the upcoming big Fall/Winter installment, now I gett to have fun doing one of the things I like the most on SL. Styling and mixing and matching outfits and documenting it all on the Digital Image blog!

Just to make things clear, even if in real life my job deals also with fashion I am not a stylist, just an amateur :-). So read my posts just as the product of someone who is sincerely passionate about fashion.

Now, let's talk about the clothes! For this first post, I opted for a street, yet chic and glamourous style. I'm dressed for one of my favorite things to do in real life: shopping with friends in Via Condotti, Rome, after sipping a good cocktail in the small, cozy bar in Spagna Square.

The blouse is from the N i V E N collection was a perfect match for my look. The colour of the Fuschia Sorbet blouse is nicely saturated, and the details make it really delicate and feminine, like the free flowing sleeves and the tulle roses on the neckline. I like to coyly hide my face behind them and send flirtacious looks to those nice italian guys *giggles*. I paired with SySy's pants from her Janet Jackson outfit, which I find really amazing and original for those wide leg attachments and suitable for very different situations.

To compliment I selected a cute hairstyle that is chic, yet sweet and casual. The Fuschia sorbet bag continues the theme of color and flow. My Fleur nails are the very first prim ones I like a lot, as they don't interfere with my AO and just look amazingly realistic. My jewels are from EMPEROR jewelry, a very talented artist whose items are original, simple and classic. I Hope you enjoyed and see you at my next post!
